Lo que hecho esta hecho

(I wrote this on April 20 but am just now posting it...)
A month from today I will be landing in Oaxaca. I got my housing information yesterday...which has made this feel real finally. I'm starting to get super excited. I will be living in Colonia Reforma. This means nothing to any of you, I'm sure...and I'm honestly not sure what it means. If I was just a genius and found where I'll live on a map it will be about a 9 block walk to school everyday. I've just found out that one of the girls will be a few blocks from me, so hopefully I won't have to make the long walk alone every day.
I've done some research on food and have discovered that a little something called chapulines are a popular street food in Oaxaca. What exactly are chapulines you ask? Well, they are deep fried grasshoppers and crickets. There are also a lot of dishes like chiles rellenos (basically stuffed chiles) that have grasshoppers in them. I am unsure if I will try them, but why not. I ate a fried worm freshman year of high school just to see what it tasted like. The biggest thing I'm not sure I'll be able to get over is that it's like the hole crunchy grasshopper...legs and all.
Not only am I excited to leave for Mexico, I'm also thrilled to be finishing school as I know it at Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong, I've loved my time in Madison, but I'm ready to be done. However, I do not feel like I should be receiving that piece of paper that will say I've learned something significant. Oh well, if they want to give it to me, I'll take it.
